Public Investment

Public Investment

How do we leverage our resources towards Public Investment? Our Solidarity Economics Series continues with a look at the kind of economic development we envision in our communities and the role public investments play.  Learn from community leaders Constance Slider-Pierre (TURN), Adria Tinnin (TURN), Sahara Huazano (Alianza) Mary Vang (MAN), Katy Robb (MAN) & Mark Wiese (Pacific Housing) as they share the stories of how they engaged with Public Investment Projects to meet the growing needs of their communities.

Public Investment as a traditional economic development approach can highlight the confusing, bureaucratic and competitive nature of trying to make positive change in our communities.  Oftentimes, community-based initiatives are overlooked or discounted in favor of non-rooted organizations with big budgets or key political ties.
